Education & Responsibilities
Though not all of these are roleplayed out, these can serve as a helpful idea of what day to day life is like at the Court! Most responsibilities are implied, as we aren't a hard realism type of roleplay. If you're ever looking for an excuse to throw characters together, though, this is a great place to start!
Court Education
Cats born into the court are required to take certain classes once they hit 6 moons of age. After their education is complete, they are free to take on whatever classes they would like. New adult entrants to the Court are not required to take any classes, but young new entrants may be encouraged to do so.
These required classes teach the basics of hunting and fighting as well as basic mathematics!
There are plenty other Court classes that explore all sorts of topics, from sign language to pottery to poison identification. Any cat can start teaching if they'd like, and any cat can take any class.
court responsibilities
Maintaining a large group of cats means that responsibilities must be shared. Here's a few things that Court cats get up to on a day to day basis!
Patrols! Though the Court has no hard borders, cats will often get together to mark specific territory landmarks and make sure there's no one in need of assistance on their land.
Hunting! This may look different for all sorts of cats, and some may prefer to hunt solo than to go as a group. Some cats would prefer to fish as well, and that's just as encouraged.
Working on group projects! The Court always has something they'd like to work on, sometimes directed by the Council. This can be something like building or contributing to a community kitchen or working on digging drainage tunnels.
Meeting with fellow role holders! The Council are not the only ones who have meetings, it's common for cats of other roles to meet up and work on projects. For example, historians may gather to discuss and develop a writing system.
